Ivana Hainz received her Master’s Degree in Architecture from the Faculty of Architecture, University of Ljubljana. In more than 10 years of work she has gained knowledge, skills, and experience in the fields of architecture, engineering, and interior design, with a specific focus on creative thinking, team and project management, and building regulations. She received a nomination for Wooden Icon Prize from HISE Magazine in 2016, for her project Residences on the hill. She also won 1st Prize in the Rima Houses' Competition for her design of prefabricated houses, and a 2nd Prize and recognition from the Chamber for Architecture and Urban Planning of Slovenia (ZAPS) for the design of passive houses in collaboration with other architects.
The majority of her work and the part she admittedly enjoys most is residential architecture. She says this gives her a chance for a more personal approach to planning with intimate and custom-made results. The customers are involved in their projects from start to finish, often striking a friendly relationship that continues on past the duration of the project. Her easy -going and hands-on approach has helped her see her business soar, gaining recognition in her native Slovenia. Ivana currently lives and works in Vancouver, Canada.
